"The Sheen"

One version of Edvard Munch's master work, "The Scream," is due to be auctioned off at Sotheby's this week. It's being reported that Charlie Sheen has designs on purchasing the work ("At any cost!") then altering the imagery with his face...and retitling it, "The Sheen."

Sheen's people released an artist's conception of the revised work, shown above.

Bidding for Munch's work is expected to reach as much as 80 million dollars...but the Sheen camp is convinced that if Charlie were to purchase the work at that price and make the proposed changes, the value of the painting would, in fact, go up.

There's also a possibility that another high profile bidder -- Dallas Maverick's owner Mark Cuban -- might join the fray and jack the price up even higher.

"Charlie's a national treasure!" Cuban gushed. "I love the idea of putting his own face on the piece. Then I thought, maybe I should buy the painting and add my own face! How cool would that be...especially if we bomb out in the playoffs???"

Meanwhile, an art historian -- who wishes to remain anonymous -- stated, "In threatening to alter this great work, it would appear that Mr. Sheen's ego has no limits."

"It would appear that this anonymous douchebag's stupidity has no limits," Sheen replied, answering the charges during an interview with Larry King.

Unbeknownst to Sheen, CNN's Larry King Live has been off the air for nearly 2 years. So the taped interview remains unaired, much to Charlie's disappointment.

"We're now in negotiations with Turner Broadcasting to start my own cable network in order to air the interview," Sheen explained. "We plan to put the entire 8 minutes on a continuous loop, and run it 24/7 without commercial interruption for the next 10 years. That means sooner or later, every soul on earth will see it. I just want my story out, that's all."
